Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Marica Parrish graduated from Indiana University East as a social worker in 2001 and has spent over 25 years primarily working with children and their families in elementary schools, mental healthcare treatment systems, as a family resource and wraparound specialist, and as a service and support administrator for an Ohio Board of Developmental Disabilities. She joined the Union Chapel Counseling Center team as an intern in August of 2025 and is currently in her last semester as a graduate student in Liberty University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She will be graduating with highest honors in August of 2026 as an Indiana Associate Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Marica’s preferred therapeutic approaches are person centered, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies. She has also been trained with an emphasis in biblical integration and crisis intervention counseling, as well as being a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) premarital counseling facilitator. She finds purpose in guiding children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in their journeys toward personal growth, wellness, and healing. She is married, has two grown children, and three grandchildren.
